Preschool Program

Running from 08:00 to 18:00 across 48 weeks annually, the early years program sits within 130 acres of natural outdoor spaces where children discover learning through both structured activities and self-directed play. From their first day, students begin developing reading, writing, phonics, and mathematics skills in three nurturing spaces—Caterpillar, Bumblebee, and Butterfly rooms—where Embley School balances academic preparation with age-appropriate exploration.

Early Years at Embley School

Built on EYFS principles, the program tracks progress through observation and independent tasks while introducing French, philosophy, and physical education. Classroom themes like “Myself and My Story,” “Fairy Tales,” and “The Animal Kingdom” spark curiosity, which extends beyond campus through visits to Marwell Zoo and the Watercress Line. Each child receives an iPad to support their growing digital literacy.

Prep School (Years 1-6)

Students advance from the first Key Stage to the second Key Stage, initially focusing on English and mathematics alongside specialized disciplines including music and technology. As they progress, subject experts teach all courses, including humanities, IT, and sciences, while the Philosophy for Children program develops critical thinking and reasoning abilities. Every student uses an iPad to enhance their learning experience.

Senior School Programs at Embley School

Core subjects—English, mathematics, and combined sciences—form the groundwork, offering GCSE choices ranging from art to PE and personal social development across comprehensive academic programs. Strong students build crucial abilities and self-confidence that prepare them not just for exams but for navigating challenges with resilience and purpose.

Sixth Form Stage

Twenty-four A Level subjects and Extended Project Qualification pathways unfold in small classes where personalized focus thrives. Daily tutorials and personal development programs at Embley School cultivate leadership and responsibility, preparing students for higher education or vocational training. This focused environment equips young adults with scholarly achievements alongside the confidence to pursue meaningful careers.
